  3. Windows vs. Mac • Checking the Developer option is one of the places where the Mac and Windows procedures are different. We’ll look at the Windows method first, then the Mac • There are videos for both Windows and Mac; links are posted

Developer Tab on Windows • To work with VBA, the Developer tab must be visible on the ribbon • Key difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010 • In Excel 2007, push the options button and check the box that says “Show Developer tab in ribbon” (picture on next slide) • In Excel 2010, right click on the tab part of the ribbon, choose the “Customize Ribbon” option, and check the box to show the developer tab

  7. Developer Tab on Mac • There are actually several ways to do this; this is an easy option: • Under the PowerPoint menu, choose Preferences • In the window that appears, choose Ribbon • In the customize screen that comes up in the middle of the resulting window, check Developer
