  3. MATL Background • Northern termination near Lethbridge looping into the Lethbridge – Milo 240 kV line • Southern termination at Great Falls 230 kV • Line length approx. 190 miles • Cost – approx. $100 M • Proposed rating +/- 300 MW

  4. MATL Current Design • Phase Shifter • 330 MVA +/- 70 degree phase shift (external) • Shunt Compensation • 2 50 MVAr banks at MATL AB • 4 40 MVAr banks at Marias

  5. MATL Current Design • Line design finalized • 1590 kcmil Falcon on monopole and H-frame towers • Series Compensation • Northern segment: 60% • Southern segment: 50%

  6. MATL Current Status • Phase Shifter ordered from ABB • SNC Lavalin hired as EPC on August 29 • Tower and conductor suppliers TBD

  7. MATL Current Status • All regulatory filings have been made • AEUB • NEB • FERC • DOE • MDEQ • FERC has conditionally accepted MATL’s transmission rights • Capacity is fully subscribed

  8. MATL Phase 2 Studies • Resubmitted WECC notification for Project Rating Review due to changes in Project scope. 60 day period expires October 31.
