  3. Her Story Aphrodite was born from the foam of the sea many, many years ago. She is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. She was raised in the heavens with the Gods, and when she grew up she was forced into an arranged marriage to an ugly God, Hephaestus. Her dad chose this man for her to marry because he feared the Gods would fight over her for her beauty. She had a son, then, named Eros. She forced him into an arranged marriage as well.
