    1. Lauren Milstid GRIT 671 New roles and responsibilities, reasons for change, and the tactics used to cope with change This assignment required me to design a training course based on the needs analysis process.

    2. Project Background I will design a project that teaches employees how to deal with their department getting restructured. What I mean by restructuring and reorganizing, is that the director of the department will give employees new responsibilities as well as take some away. Employees’ roles will become altered to fulfill the business’s needs. Employees from other departments may even be moved into other departments as well. This process can become disruptive, in many ways. For instance, employees can tend to become defensive and even vengeful, for fear of job demotions and a decrease of responsibilities. To avoid any resistance, my training program will incorporate an introduction of the staffs’ newest roles and responsibilities, as well as, provide objectives and activities that educate employees on the positive reasons for change and the skills used to cope with change. My training will take three weeks, with each week focusing on a different objective. The following questions will be answered: Week 1: What are the new roles and responsibilities? Weed 2: What are the positive reasons for change? Week 3: What are strategies for coping with change?

    3. Audience Analysis

    4. Tri-Level Objectives Explore new roles and responsibilities, reasons for change, and the tactics used to cope with change Business Objectives This program supports the following business objectives: To maintain a high level of productivity throughout the department’s restructuring process Performance Objectives Applying the knowledge and skills learned in this program will support the learners’ abilities to: Take-on new roles with a positive approach (execute new responsibilities as if they were the previous ones) Learning Objectives Participants will be able to: Define new roles and responsibilities- objective met, but I would have liked to see an activity to definitely confirm that – perhaps a more specific question in the journal. Explain positive reasons for the change - Met – you have good activities to bring out the content; be sure to summarize all that before moving on List strategies for coping with change – Met – you met this with a simple job aid, and then took it a step further to help people to see how these strategies are indeed useful in real situations.

    5. Delivery Mode Recommendation My delivery mode will be an online course. Since it is a job requirement for the employees to work with the latest technology and computer programs, then all of the staff have access to the same resources (however, it is their decision if they want to work onsite or at home). If staff choose to use the company’s resources, then they can work during lunch or stay after hours. Since technology is an interest to this group, their home computers are actually more upgraded than the onsite up-to-date workstations. Activities will include, in no specific order: (details on next two slides) Inspirational video Storytelling Simulation Write and compare Video presentation Read and review Treasure hunt Job aid Rhetorical question
