IDYCA IDYCA stands for Institute of Drug Abuse and Addictive Behaviors in Spanish, and it is a Center which depends on the University Cardenal Herrera – CEU of Valencia, with funding from the local government, namely the Consellería de Sanidad de la Comunidad Valenciana (Regional Valencian Government)

  3. It is dedicated mainly to scientific, technical and social research in all the areas related with drug abuse and addictive behaviors, and besides all the activities of formation and technical assistance which could be developed in each particular area.

  4. IDYCA THE MAIN OBJECTIVES: to foster, coordinate and develop scientific, technical, legal and formative activities at the University Cardinal Herrera – CEU, with the purpose of helping to achieve a better knowledge about drug abuse and all the different aspects related with it, namely about health, culture and legal and social areas.

  5. Goals of the Institute: -       Fostering, coordinating and developing research projects and activities related with innovation, research and development in collaboration with private companies (in the field of pharmaceuticals, medicine, food and health in general) and with the Federal Agencies, to foster scientific and technical counselling services to these entities.

  6. Goals of the Institute Fostering and developing activities for the training of scientific and technical staff in the different fields of intervention on drug prevention programs. Fostering the distribution and information together with the communication and use of the scientific discoveries in the field of drug abuse. The Institute will promote collaborative efforts in the scientific and technical areas nationally and internationally with other research centers, not only university related ones but also others both of public and private nature.

  7. Research Projects Currently there are three Research Projects • Effect of alcohol on nervous tissue. • Effect of ecstasy on the nervous tissue. • Neurobiology and Neuroimage on human population addict to cocaine.
