  2. I. Structure of the test The PSAT focuses on critical reading skills, math problem solving skills, writing skills. • On the critical reading skills you need to focus on sentence completion. It will have questions that measure your knowledge with the meanings of the words and ability to understand how the different parts of a sentence logically fit together.

  3. Also on the critical reading the passage-based reading will be examined, it measures your abilities to read and think carefully about a single reading passage or a pair of related passages.

  4. Example of Writing skills • Johannes Gutenberg is generally credited to bring together the two main concepts of modern printing: movable pieces of metal type that could be reused, and a printing press for producing sharp impressions on paper over and over. • A. to bring • B. as he brought • C. by bringing • D. with bringing • E. for the fact of bringing

  5. Choice (D) is correct. It avoids the unidiomatic phrasing of the original by linking an appropriate prepositional phrase, “with bringing,” to the verb “credited.”
