  3. Survey Mail List • Average Age: 50.3 • Average Membership Years: 11.9 • 3% attended a PDD program (2000-2001) • 3% Section Officers (2000-2001) • 13% attended a major meeting or exhibit (2000-2001) • 12% involved with standards (2000-2001) • 14% purchased SAE product (fiscal 2001)

  4. Respondents • About 2700 surveys returned • Roughly equivalent to a 10% response rate • Past surveys at 15-20% • Not anonymous • Second survey • Initial findings based on ~500 of the 2700 responses … findings may change

Company Support of Membership • 51% of members say their company pays for dues • 82% of those members say they would pay for their own memberships if necessary • Thus… about 9% of SAE membership is dependent on direct corporate support • This does not account for members who have not joined because of this factor
