  2. Why is it important to have a variety of animals in the bay. • It is important to have a variety of living things in the bay. The horseshoe crab is important to the bay because their blood is used for drugs and medicine. Also there is the sea cumber they are important also because they are used in Japanese restaurants. Then last but not least the diamond back terrapin they are important to the bay because they have been a part of Maryland for many years.

  3. HORESHOE CRAB! • The horseshoe crab is important to the bay because….. • The females lay eggs in June or May . Horseshoe have lived for 360 years and still looks the same . They eat marine worms, and shellfish like clams . Their gills are called book gilled . Horseshoe crabs are NOT crabs .   4. SEA CUMBER! • The sea cumber is important to the bay because… • We can eat them in Japanese restaurants and they grow 4-5 inches long . They use their feet to hide .   5. Diamond back terrapins! • The diamond back terrapins have been part of Maryland for many years … Females are much larger then whales. There are different kinds of diamond backs . They are strong climbers and fast swimmers. They are apart of the turtle family . In conclusion all 3 sea animals are all important to us and the bay.

  6. Conclusion • I learned that all of the animals are important to the Chesapeake bay. The horseshoe crab is important to the bay , the diamond back terrapins are important to the bay , the sea cumber is important to the bay . Every creature , animal , (ex) is important to us and the bay.
