  2. What is a demonstrative pronoun? A demonstrative pronoun points out a specific person, place, thing, or idea.

  3. This and These refer to things that are nearby.(either in space or in time) • This is my pencil. • This must not continue. 3. These are the shoes I wore. 4. Two customers wanted these.

  4. That and Those refer to things that are farther away in space or time. That is my pencil. That must not continue. Those are the shoes I wore. Two customers wanted those.

  5. Also, remember….. This and that are used to refer to singular nouns. Example: This is a delicious apple. That is a delicious apple. These and those are used to refer to plural nouns. Example: These are delicious apples. Those are delicious apples.
