  1. How To Use Outboard Motors

  2. There is nothing better than spending an afternoon at the lake. Owning a boat is a lot of fun and a great way to spend time with family and friends. However, the boat owner has a responsibility to keep their outboard motor in good operating condition. After all, you don't want yamaha outboard motors for sale the boat ready to go to sea and then finding the engine won't start, or worse, you might be in the middle of a lake and seeing the engine stall. Proper engine maintenance includes periodic verification that all parts are functioning properly. In order to properly maintain your boat's engine, it is important to understand the basics of engine operation so that you can easily replace defective parts. I always buy parts for my outboard motor online. Here are three reasons I think you should do the same. Prices

  3. One thing is certain: outboard motor prices cannot be found online. Because selling online means lower overhead, dealers can sell the parts you need at a fraction of the price you would pay at your local marina. Customer Service Good online retailers have a customer service number and email address. I've found that they're always happy to help if you have any questions, so you can be sure you're getting the right part for your boat's engine, no matter the number of times. Varieties online retailers offer a wide variety of hard-to-find new and vintage outboard motor parts. They stock parts from all the major manufacturers including Mercury, Yamaha, Evinrude, Johnson and more. You will also find parts for older models in our shop. For example, let's say you have an older 1985 Yamaha Cobra. Does an outboard motor have a fuel pump All you have to do is go to the website and select 1985 Yamaha and Cobra outboard motor parts and you pretty much will see all the parts you need for that specific engine. As you can see you can't beat the price, service and the wide range of outboard motor parts you can find online. Finding the right outboard part you need to get back on the lake will help save you time, money and headaches. When Carl Kiekhaefer graduated as an engineer, he never intended to do anything with outboard motors. His original project was to develop and manufacture magnetic separators for the dairy industry. With his father's financial backing, he bought a troubled powerboat business in Cedarburg, intending to use the land to manufacture his magnetic separators. When he bought the company, he also got 300 outboard motors, which were considered junk because they had defects and didn't work.

  4. Since Carl was an engineer and needed money, he decided to research engines to see if they could be repaired and sold. After seeing them, he and his small team went to work, repairing them all and contacting the original buyer, who turned them down. The order was placed with a mail order company who agreed to take the engines from Carl once they were up and running and sell them. Carl saw outboard motors as a quick way to make money for his business, so he called Kiekhaefer Corporation. But when a mail-order company called and ordered more engines because they had proved popular and reliable, and a second company showed interest in the engines and asked to design and build another two-cylinder engine with alternative ignition for them, it was short before doing so check his plans. It was at this point in 1939 that Carl decided to improve the design of the outboard motor and produce it in place of the dairy machines. Carl worked on developing his own brand of engines, taking into account everything that was wrong and unreliable about the honda outboard motors for saleoutboard engines already available at the time. His plan was to introduce the first line of engines that would outperform any engine currently available in terms of performance and reliability. He developed a mud and weed resistant water pump impeller by making rubber parts and a housing to protect the driveshaft and exhaust system. The new engines also featured the first reed fuel system, which would be introduced in 1940 as the Mercury range in honor of the Roman messenger of the gods. He debuted his outboard engines to the public and dealers at the 1940 New York Boat Show and received 16,000 engine orders at the show

  5. An outboard motor is simply a self-contained engine that sits outside of your boat, not inside. Most engines consist of a basic engine and associated cooling system and electrical components necessary for operation. Therefore, yamaha outboard motors for sale a gearbox is attached to the engine, which in turn is connected to the propeller via a drive shaft. Your outboard motor includes all of these components, but they are designed as a single unit that attaches and attaches to the stern (stern) of the boat for immediate use. They come in horsepower sizes, with most manufacturers making models ranging from 2 to 300 horsepower, with a higher number indicating more horsepower. On some models, only the fuel tank may be required. Most small outboard engines have a built-in fuel tank, but larger engines that use more fuel use an external fuel tank for more fuel capacity. To steer your boat with an outboard motor, you must rotate the device on its mount to change the direction of the propeller, rather than using the rudder as is common when setting up an outboard or inboard motor. This is usually done in two ways: with a stick or what is known as a remote control. The rudder is essentially a simple handle attached to the motor that protrudes into the boat and can be used to move the motor from side to side on the

  6. swivel mount. A remote control system is a system that allows the boat to be steered electrically, hydraulically, or by cable with the steering wheel from a position other than directly on the engine. This is set up so that it works in the same way as a car turn the wheel to the left the boat turns to the left and turning the wheel to the right makes the boat turn to the right. The speed of the a small boat with an outboard motor is controlled by the throttle which regulates the flow of gas into the engine and this can be done in different ways depending on the type of steering you have. With a tiller controlled boat the throttle is usually found on the steering handle in the form of a twist grip the same as on a motorcycle. If the boat has remote steering the throttle would be in the form of a handle that can be reached from the position that the boat is steered from. On some boats that have a tiller operated engine pushing down on the end of the tiller handle causes the propeller to lift at an angle and this is another method of controlling the speed of an outboard powered craft. There are two types of outboard motors. The most common method is propeller propulsion, the other method is jet propulsion. With jet propulsion, the engine simply sucks water in at the front and then pushes it out at the back under pressure, creating forward thrust. Outboard engines are most commonly used on boats and are designed as a self- contained unit with the engine. Designed to be installed in the stern of the boat, they are the most common method of propulsion for small boats. Outboard motors provide not only propulsion but also steering. Interesting use of an outboard motor. It is used to rotate on their mounts and is used to control the direction of the propeller. When operating your boat in shallow water, the outboard motor can be tilted forward on the brackets to raise the propeller and propeller shaft out of the water, preventing debris or weeds from collecting on underwater obstacles such as rocks. Today, many manufacturers use this type of propulsion in their boats. This has proven to be an excellent method for this application and makes the boat much easier to operate in any body of water. By applying this method to boats, outboard motors become an economical and practical solution for everyone. There are so many different layers of technology that allow everyone to enjoy life and have more fun on the water. Outboard motor technology is here. The small motor boats are really self- sufficient. They have integrated fuel tanks and controls mounted on the engine body, controlled by a rudder and linked to the engine. The small engines can only weigh twelve kilograms and provide enough power to propel the boat. They are portable and can be removed by loosening the attached clamps. Today's outboards are designed for larger boats and deliver more power than ever before. Outboard diesel engines are also available, and honda outboard motors for sale but their weight and cost make them more efficient for normal use on

  7. standard boats. Most of the motors you need can be bought online. When you go online you will find that there are so many different types to choose from and you can have them in no time. Boat speed is controlled by the throttle lever, which regulates gas flow to the engine. This can be done in different ways depending on the type of control. On a tiller boat, the throttle is usually located on the control handle in the form of a twist grip, just like on a motorcycle. If your boat is equipped with a remote control, the throttle is in the form of a handle that is accessible from where you steer the boat. On some boats equipped with a tiller motor, pushing the end of the tiller handle will raise the propeller at an angle, another method of controlling outboard motor speed. There are two types of outboard motors. are yamaha outboard motors reliable The most common method is propeller propulsion, the other method is jet propulsion. In jet propulsion, the engine simply sucks water in from the front and then expels it under pressure from the rear, creating forward thrust. Much blood, sweat and tears may have gone into the production of the first engine after Montgomery Ward entered service. Named after Roman mythology, Mercury got off to a good start. During World War II it was threatened with closure due to lack of materials and depletion of stocks. The founders, Kiekhaefer Corporation, quickly switched gears and began providing supplies to the war effort. It's about a man who's from Wisconsin, E.C. originates. "Carl" Kiekhaefer, who attended a vocational school for motor vehicles and practical electrical engineering.Interested in farm machinery of all kinds, he decided to settle down in 1938 when the Cedarburg, Wisconsin plant closed. With the help of his father and the locals, Carl took over management of the factory and

  9. decided on future production. With the stock of engines that came with the takeover, Carl was off to a good start with the Mercury brand when war broke out. Quickly moves to supplying the military with generators, chainsaws and compressors, designing and building light engines for four years, which also helps him with research and development in the field of engine technology. Shortly after the war ended, the Kiekhaefer Corporation's 1946 Mercury was on the launch pad. Carl needed more honda outboard motors for sale space to grow and moved his manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters to an acquired dairy farm in Font du Lac, Wisconsin, his home state. As competition between Carl's Kiekhaefer Corporation and Evinrude/Johnson intensified and increasingly sophisticated designs flooded the market, along with Mercury's land speed record in the 1960's, Carl merged his company with Brunswick Corp. in 1961. The merger put things right The financial side plays a big role for Carl, but he feels increasingly left out because he is no longer able to decide his fate. Although he died in 1983, shortly after his decision to leave the organization he founded, Carl founded Kiekhaefer Aeromarine Motors. However, Brunswick's promotion of Mercury has helped them lead the market to this day.
