  2. Domestic Working Group CDC - Summary • Coaching Development • Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) • Professional Development and Experiential learning • Activities in 03-04

  3. Domestic Working Group CDC - Summary • CBET • Coaching Development Model is completed and has been approved by CAC • 2 main coaching streams • Community coaching streams (3 sub streams) • Competitive coaching (5 sub streams) • Community coaching program is to be delivered in Fall 04

Domestic Working Group CDC - Summary • Professional Development and Experiential learning • ICE Assignments BWC 7-8 (level 2+, Division driven) • Level 3 practical completions • NCI coaches and Master coach activities • Coaching assistance for level 3 practicum • Activities in 03-04 • 17 coaching course conducted across Canada • 1 level 3 course conducted (Valcartier) • 10 level 4 coaches continued PD (2 NCI) • 2 CDC meetings for program development

Domestic Working Group Officials - Summary • Review of current curriculum • Based on CDC CBET methodologies • PDM developed in Nov-Jan • Curriculum upgrade development underway • 6 official courses conducted this year: 166 officials trained • 6 basic courses (QC, ON,AB) , 1 advanced course (YK), 1 IR course (AB) • IR Course – 15 participants (USA and Canada) • Statistics: 28 Canadian TD’s; 3 International TD’s, 26 IR’s • IR exposure • 4 IR’s attended BWC 7-8 (2 supported – 2 sanctioned)

Domestic Working Group Other Business • Cadet program (Capt Bulger will present on Friday - PM) • Canada Winter Games Technical Package reviewed • Age approved, coaching certification not approved • NORAM Cup circuit and NACH • 7 NA Cup events scheduled – 2 cancelled (NA #2-5) • National Championships – ACBQ, Valcartier • Review of changes implemented in 03-04 • Inclusion of Team Aggregate competition • Modification of Masters categories

Domestic Working Group ISSUES • Issues will be addressed as part of the presentation on plans and priorities for, • 2004-2005, to include: • Modifications to National Championships 2005 • Increased funding for coaching education transition • NA Cup series • Increased communications with Cadet Biathlon Program • Officials curriculum development • Regional development
