  2. DAC provides opportunities in drama, visual art, film, circus, writing, photography, music and dance. DAC’s mission is to create and nurture community-based opportunities for artistic expression.

  3. DAC provides opportunities in drama, visual art, film, circus, writing, photography, music and dance.

  4. DAC serves the rural upper Susitna Valley which has a population of 2,370. DAC membership is 304.

  5. Annual Circus Camp & Performance

  6. Community theatre

  7. Monthly art shows in the North Wall Gallery.

  8. The artists gain exposure and income from art sold.

  9. DAC has an extensive pool of dedicated volunteers.

  10. DAC strives to reach participants of all ages.

  11. Workshops increase participation in the arts.

  12. Jazz Residency workshop series for community musicians.

  14. Circus Camp expanded in 2009 to serve 4-6 year olds in addition to ages 7 and up.

  15. 2 Open Air Market runs every weekend all summer. It features exclusively Alaskan artisans. It is viable income for artists and also raises unrestricted funds for DAC.

  16. A local photographer’s show features life in northwestern Alaska.

  17. Music classes expanded in 2009/2010. The beginning adult strings orchestra has 17 people!

  18. Circus 09 009 In 2009 DAC sponsored Artists in Schools at 2 local schools.

  19. The youth steel drum band performs at the Masquerade Ball.

  20. nlord08 DAC collaborated with the Talkeetna Library to offer a workshop and presentation with AK State Laureate writer, Nancy Lord.

  21. DAC collaborated with the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce and Talkeetna Historical Society again in 2009 to produce Moose on Parade.

  22. DAC collaborated with KTNA Community Radio again in 2009 with their summer concert series.

  23. A music workshop with Old Blind Dogs musicians.

  24. Statehood Quilt exhibit visits in May, 2009.

  25. 2 Paul Rosenthal & Friends perform an evening of chamber music.

  26. DAC owns a multi-purpose facility, the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.

  27. Community use of the facility builds DAC’s relationships and brings in rental income.

  29. DAC reaches out by engaging in community events.

  30. DAC encourages residents to engage in the arts.
