Background Information • Java Jolt is located in the town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. • Chapel Hill was chosen as the business site so that it could serve coffee, beverages, and pastries to college students who are up at all hours of the day. • Chapel Hill is the location of the University of North Carolina so it is convenient for the students. • This business is not part of a chain, it is one of a kind. • Estimate of sales daily is about $600.

  3. People • Java Jolt takes pride in being family owned and maintained. Having the family as the main people working leads to a very trusting environment. We also hire workers who need part-time work during their college careers. • Our customers range in age from teens to the elderly. Young adults make up a large amount of our customers who need the caffeine to keep going. Many adults on their way to work will stop in for a drink and a pastry to start off their day. Some people just like to come to our shop and enjoy the atmosphere.

  6. Data Each day, week, month, and year we will have reports of how the business is doing. • Sales totals • Number of customers • Employee hours • Equipment usage • Ordered products

  7. Procedures Sunday-Saturday 6am-12 am A memory backup system will be installed on the computer. Papers with all product prices with be produced in case the computer is down. An inventory count will be on the computer as well as printed for a hard copy.
