  1. Volleyball • Invented by Businessmen at Lunch Break • Court Size—30x60 • Team has 6 players • After whistle you have 5 seconds to serve • Three Hits allowed on each side • Rotate Clockwise to Serve

  3. ACE • A Served Ball That Directly Results in a Point.

  4. Dive--Pancake Defensive Skill Where the Player Springs Forward, Plays the Ball and Slides on Chest-Abdomen

  5. Block • Stopping the Ball Just Before Or After It Crosses The Net

  6. Tip/Dink • A Straight Armed Touch of the Ball That Softly Puts the Ball Out of the Reach of the Blocker

  7. Set • Placement of the Ball Near the Net So One Can Spike It.

  8. Serve • The Method Of Putting the Ball In Play

  9. Pass or Bump • A Pass Made off the Forearms

  10. Kill • A Spike or Tip That Can Not Be Returned and Results in a Point or Side out

  11. Spike • A Forceful Method Of Returning the Ball Over the Net

  12. Dig • An Emergency Pass, Usually Executed With One Arm or Fist

  13. THE COURT • Court Size--30 x 60 Feet • 10 Foot Line—no one on the back row can jump in front of it. • Rotate Clockwise

  14. Points • A point is scored on each serve (Rally Score). • Play until a team reaches 20. • Must be ahead by 2 points in order to win. • You can score a point if the other team misses their serve. • Point is when the other team scores and they serve again. • Side out is when one team served the ball and made a mistake so the ball goes to the other team to serve.
