  8. Food! Common traditional meals consist of sweetcorn dishes like pozol (corn soup), or chorreadas (corn pancakes)  • This simple, standard dish, Gallo Pinto, is often referred to as comidatipica and is the backbone of Costa Rican cuisine. 

How would this be educational? • Not only would this trip be a great way to truly experience a different kind of culture, but all the students who would go on this trip would get real life experience, using and practicing with their vocabulary they have learned throughout the year. A trip like this would be fun, educational, and realistically answer the commonly asked question, “When are we ever going to use this?”
