  1. 1 Timothy 1:5 • Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: • No more commands (heart is standard)? 1 John 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. • Impure heart anduntrained conscience 1 Jn. 3:17-21 • The end of negativity toward the commands of God • Psalm 112:1 delight in commandments • Col. 3:2 Do what we want (God’s will is wanted) • Love makes submission easy

  2. 1 Timothy 1:5 • Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: • The goal of the commandment reached • “telos” (translated “custom” in Rom. 13:7-9) • Tax paid at the end of travel • Rom. 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

  4. 1 Timothy 1:5 • Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: • Commands hang on proper loving: Matt. 22:40 • Matt 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. • Jms 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: • Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
