Introduction to System Administration This lessons introduces the various System Administration tasks that a System Administrator performs to manage the Policy Servicing Work Desk (PSWD) application. After completing this lesson, you will be able to: • Discuss the roles and responsibilities of a System Administrator. • Discuss the various System Administration tasks. • Discuss the scope of this training. • List the icons used in the modules.

  12. Introduction to the Application This lesson will provide information on how to log in to the PSWD application and will explain the screen elements that users will use frequently. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Log in to the PSWD application. • Explain the features of the Dashboard. • Explain the features of the System Admin screen. • Describe the screen elements of the application.

  14. Introduction to the Application The Dashboard As you log in to the application, the first screen that is displayed is the Dashboard. The System Administrators must click the System Admin icon on the Dashboard to display the System Admin screen.

  22. Group and User Maintenance As part of the System Administration activity, the System Administrator will need to add, delete and update users as well as Groups in the application. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Add a Group and a user. • Delete a Group and a user. • Update Group and user details.

  23. Managing Groups and Users The System Administrators have the access rights to perform the following tasks to add and manage the Groups and users. • Group and User Maintenance Add a Group and a User Delete a Group and a User Update a Group and User

  28. Deleting a Group and a User • Group and User Maintenance When deleting a user or a Group, first select the user or the Group from Master List. A Master List of users and Groups is maintained in the system. The selected user or Group details will be visible in the screen only after this. If a user or a Group is deleted, it will be deleted from the Master List.

  31. Updating User and Group Details • Group and User Maintenance When updating a user or a Group, first select the user or the Group from Master List. A Master List of users and Groups is maintained in the system. The selected user or Group details will be visible in the screen only after this.

  36. Queue Maintenance As part of the User Maintenance activity, System Administrators have the access rights to update the Queue owners for a Group. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Update the Queue owners for a Group.

  37. Managing Queues Any request follows a sequential flow through pre-defined Queues. Various Queues available are: • Queue Maintenance Data Entry Quality Checker Approver Cashier Claim

  42. Accessing Batch Reports As part of the System Administration activity, the System Administrator will need to access the Batch reports. After completing this lesson, you should be able to: • Access the reports repository. • View a Batch report.

  43. Batch Reports There are some Batch Reports that are saved and stored in a particular repository. The System Administrators can view and access the required reports from the repository. These are not real time but are already stored. • Accessing Batch Reports Batch Reports are periodic reports that are generated automatically when the scheduled Batch runs. Once the System Administrator sets the required report in the Batch, the report will be automatically generated on the scheduled time.
