  5. Patristic Period • 1st Century -11th Century • The Gospels • General teachings of Jesus Christ • Summarized in the Didache • By the apostles • First handbook of morals

  6. The Didache • General precept: • To do good and avoid evil

  7. The Doing of Good • Observance of two great commandments: • Love for our God • Love for our Neighbor • The Golden Rule

  8.
