  3. Why Do We Need Word Work? Expanding your vocabulary leads to greater fluency in reading, and better comprehension. Practicing spelling words or high frequency words using manipulatives helps you store the words in your long term memory.

  4. Materials that can be used during word work are: • Magnetic letters • Letter stamps • White boards • Wikki sticks • Spellingcity.com is a great site to practice your spelling words or high frequency words
