  1. WPSC Application for Service Update Brown County Home Builders Association March 2010

  2. Change in Process • Wisconsin Public Service has recently been reviewing our residential new service installation process to ensure streamlined and consistent processes across all of our service territory. As a result of this review, effective March 15, 2010, a “tentative installation scheduled date”will no longer be offered for residential new service projects in Green Bay.

  3. What is Changing? • All Green Bay district residential new service installations will now be scheduled like the rest of our service territory*. • Once the design is complete and you have informed us the job site is ready*, your job will be released to the underground installation contractor. • The installation contractor will then have10 days to start construction, this includes 3 days for locates. *Click on the links above to view more specific information

  4. Past and Future Service Installation Process

  5. Impacts • Other than not providing you with a “tentative pre-scheduled installation date” there should be no other impacts to you. You will experience the same timely installation if you: • Apply Early • Keep us informed of the Job Site Ready Status • Failure to have your job site ready when our installation contractor arrives on site, may result in your job getting rescheduled. The rescheduled date will be based on when your job site will be ready and could result in restarting the 10 day installation window. • Communication is critical!!

  6. Suggestions for a Timely and Informative Service Installation • Apply early • Rule of thumb – Apply for service when you begin to excavate the job site • Provide updates to WPS regarding your job site ready status • Job site ready status • Consider participating in our E-builder program • If you are a repeat builder • Allows you to view and manage your job online • View your scheduled installation date after the job is scheduled with our contractor • Get your Electrical Inspection in to WPS • If the Electrical Inspection is received prior to the service installation, the electric meter may likely be set and the service energized on the same day as installation
