  3. Various Views

  4. Messianic Kingdom Isaiah 2 and Micah 4 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.

  5. Messianic Kingdom Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

  6. Messianic Kingdom They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.

  7. Millennial Kingdom Revelation 20:4 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

  10. One Covenant God’s purpose is to elect the saved. Grace Works 2nd Coming Adam The Church Spiritual Israel Israel Ethnic Israel God’s People Unsaved are outside the Covenant

  11. Dispensational - Various Covenants God’s purpose is to save the elect. The saved are the elect saints Gentiles Israel Church Human Government (Noah) Kingdom Christ's 2nd Coming Law (Moses) Grace Christ's 1st Coming Promise (Abraham) Innocence (pre-Fall) Conscience (Adam) The unsaved those who do not have adequate faith.

  12. ISSUE COVENANT POSITION DISPENSATIONAL POSITION PATTERN OF HISTORY Covenant of Works with Adam; Covenant of Grace with Christ on behalf of elect. Divided into distinct periods • Innocence (pre-Fall) • Conscience (Adam) • Human Government (Noah) • Promise (Abraham) • Law (Moses) • Grace (1st Coming) • Kingdom (2nd Coming).

  13. ISSUE VIEW OF HISTORY COVENANT POSITION Optimistic: God is extending His kingdom. DISPENSATIONAL POSITION Pessimistic: the Last Days are marked by increasingly worse wickedness in the world and by apostasy in the church.

  14. ISSUE GOD'S PURPOSE IN THIS AGE OF HISTORY COVENANT POSITION There is a unified redemptive purpose. DISPENSATIONAL POSITION There are two distinct purposes, one earthly (Israel), one heavenly (church).

  15. ISSUE VIEW OF THE BIBLICAL COVENANTS COVENANT POSITION They are different administrations of the Covenant of Grace. DISPENSATIONAL POSITION They mark off distinct periods of time during which God's specific demands of faith are required.

  16. ISSUE RELATIONSHIP OF OLD TESTAMENT TO NEW TESTAMENT COVENANT POSITION Acceptance of Old Testament teaching required unless specifically replaced by New Testament or Church policy. Example: Infant Baptism replaces Jewish Infant circumcision DISPENSATIONAL POSITION Old Testament prescriptions are not binding unless reaffirmed in New Testament. Mosaic Law is for the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. New Testament Law is for the Church

  17. ISSUE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE CHURCH COVENANT POSITION The church is spiritual Israel, in continuity with true Israel of Old Testament. The Jews who rejected Christ are apostate from “God’s Israel, the Church” The Modern Nation is no different than any other national entity. DISPENSATIONAL POSITION The church is the spiritual people of God (Jews and Gentiles who believe the Gospel) As a group they are distinct from National Israel, the physical people of God. Modern Israel is a fulfillment of Dispensational Bible Prophecy.

Israel is established as a secular nation in unbelief for a future judgment known as a Time of Jacob's Trouble, The Bibles speaks of a great gathering of Gentile Armies against Jerusalem. If this is true then the return of Israel in 1948 is a significant fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Ezekiel 20:33-35 , Ezekiel 22:17 , Zephaniah 2:1 • Jerusalem the capitol of Israel is under Jewish control (1967) Daniel 9:27 , Matthew 24:152 Thessalonians 2:3 , Revelation 11:2

  25. FUTURE EVENTS • A Peace treaty with the Arab states will lead into non-Arab conflict involving an invasion of Israel Ezekiel 38 (Rosh-Russia) (Cush-Ethiopia) (Meshech-Moscow) (Libya-Put) (Tubal-Tubalsk,Siberia) (Gomer-Germany) (Persia-Iran) (Togarmah-Armenia) • The One World Government will be established- (One Horn) Daniel 7:23 • One world government divides into ten kingdoms (Ten Horns) Daniel 7:24a  (Note: The European Union is one of the Ten Toes)

  26. FUTURE EVENTS 4. The Rise of Anti-Christ, (Anti-Messiah who opposes the real Messiah) is different from the other nations that ruled the earth. Some believe the Anti-Messiah will serve as a false Messiah for the Jewish People. This is not the case. He is the one world leader who takes over the Jewish Temple and claims himself as God. The Anti-Christ is of Roman origin, the prince of the people who destroyed the city. Daniel 7:24b 5. Period of peace and false security 3 1/2 year period of false peace for Israel. Turmoil for the rest of the world. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

  29. “YESHUAT HASHEM KEHEREF AYIN” THE SALVATION OF GOD COMES IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

  30. New Testament Saints - All believers in the Messiah, after the cross. The Church is composed of Believing Jews and Gentiles beginning at Acts Chapter 2 until the Rapture. The fact is that the Messiah can come at any time to gather the New Testament Saints. There are no preconditions for the "catching away of believers". If Messiah comes in the middle of the tribulation or the end then we would know exactly when he is coming and then we would get ready. The scriptures teach that the Messiah will come secretly before the wrath. The Second Coming is exactly seven years after the signing of the covenant with the Anti-Christ, but the rapture could happen at any moment.

  31. The Rapture of Believers • The Rapture can come at any moment, Matthew 24:42,44 , Luke 12:35 • Mansions are being prepared for believers John 14:1-3 • Believers will meet the Messiah in the air (dead ones will rise first) 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 • Believers receive glorified bodies 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 • Believers are delivered from the wrath to come 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 • Yeshua will come secretly before the wrath Luke 21:36 , 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10 • The Shofar (Trumpet) of Righteousness blown 1 Corinthians 15:52 • There are normal conditions on the earth Matthew 24:38-44

  32. The Rapture of Believers • Note that the Church is not mentioned at anytime during the Wrath in the book of Revelations, • The church is heavily mentioned during the first three chapters, • The Church is not mentioned until after the wrath in Revelation. 19:11-16 • There are believers during the tribulation period, but these are not “Church” saints, these become believers after the church has been removed.

  34. The Rapture of Believers There are believerspresent during the entire tribulation period. In fact the purpose of the tribulation is to bring people to faith by means of God's wrath, and cause them to cry out the Messiah. The Church is not mentioned in any tribulation passage. The elect, believers, tribulation saints who come to Messiah after the rapture exist, but the Church is not mentioned in any passage.

  35. The Opponents of the Rapture • Some see the “Church” as Israel, because Israel is mentioned in the tribulation passages, therefore the church is too. • Some see the tribulation period as a time of “Great Signs and Wonders” and believers must experience these things. • Some see these events as if they have already happened. The 70 AD destruction of Jerusalem have already fulfilled the tribulation passages. • Some see these passages as allegorical.

  36. Daniel 2:32 God Reveals Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream • 32 This image’s • head was of fine gold, • its chest and arms of silver, • its belly and thighs of bronze, • its legs of iron, • its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. • 34 You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. • 36 “This is the dream. Now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. • 37 You, O king, • ….you are this head of gold.

  37. 39 But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. 40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 4 Gentile Kingdoms will arise

  45. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it (the Stone) shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

  47. Daniel 24 70 weeks

  48. Daniel 9:24 “Seventy weeks” are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

  49. Daniel 9:24 • SEVENTY SEVENS(or seventy shevaim "sevens not weeks") .  (7  x 70  = 490 years). • ARE DETERMINED (or decreed). God has decided that this period of time would take place.       • UPON "THY PEOPLE," (Daniel's people is Israel, the Jewish People) • AND UPON "THY HOLY CITY" which is Jerusalem. These verses deal primarily with Israel the Jewish People.
