BSF ‘transforming teaching and learning

  • Partnership for Schools (PfS) is responsible for the delivery of around £9bn investment into education until 2011– through Building Schools for the Future; the Academies programme; the Primary Capital Programme; & the Devolved & Targeted Capital Programmes- ‘one conversation’

  • BSF is the largest capital investment programme for 50 years that will provide world-class teaching and learning environments for all pupils, teachers and communities in England. Over the lifetime of the programme, BSF will help improve the life chances of 3.3m children every year

  • Waves 1 – 6 agreed based on Indices of Deprivation; post Wave 6 criteria for entry process changed for LA’s following extensive consultation; 8 LA’s in 6A; all remaining LA’s now invited to engage with programme & will enter on rolling basis

  • PE and Sport Work Stream Lead & Stakeholder Group required post Wave 4

  • Funding allocation: Based on 50% New Build, 35% Major Refurbishment & 15% Minor Works

  • ICT = 10% 0f budget.

  • Work Force Reform – Development plan required as part of the process

  • Identification of Workstream Lead for PE and Sport by LA

  • Key representatives for PE & Sport Stakeholder Group identified;

  • Clear brief provided for their role; relating to their function on the group

    & the networks they represent

  • Terms of Reference for the PE and Sport SHG

  • Stakeholder Group timetable that aligns to the LA timeline

  • PE & Sport SHG clearly identified in Communication Plans

    STAKEHOLDER GROUP OUTPUTS (up to OBC)

  • Representative views from sector collated to inform the core BSF process in the LA

  • Vision for PE and Sport that informs the LA Strategy for Change

  • Consultation and feedback re SFC , with respect to PE& Sport as it is developed

  • Pre SFC meeting convened

  • Consultation and input to the Outline Business Case ( as this is developed)

  • Pre OBC submission workshop arranged
