  • This presentation will cover fall protection when using a forklift safety cage.

  • This training is required for all individuals using the safety cage

  • Topic 1: Attaching the cage to the forklift

  • Topic 2: Safety Harness and Lanyard

Topic 1 attaching the cage to the forklift

Topic 1: Attaching the cage to the forklift

  • Place the forks through the slots

  • After the forks are secure, pull the pin and flip the safety latch (yellow latch) so that the cage is secure to the forks.


Topic 2 safety harness and lanyard

Topic 2: Safety Harness and Lanyard

  • In the first photo you will see the lanyard that should be properly worn with each leg and each arm through the lanyard. The large D-ring should be on your back between your shoulder blades

  • The lanyard (the strap with a clamp at each end) should then attach to the large D-ring on your back and the other end should attach the back of the cage on a secure point.(As shown in the picture)
