ODL-SDNi App ODL-SDNi App – ODL East-West Interface • ODL- SDNi App scope/coverage • SDNiAggregator • Northbound SDNi plugin acts as an aggregator for collecting network information such as topology, stats, host etc. • Plugin can be evolved as per needs of network data requested to be shared across federated SDN controllers • SDNiRestAPI • SDNi REST APIs will be implemented to fetch the aggregated information from the northbound plugin – SDNiaggregator • New SDNi RestAPI will be developed, specific to ODL for supporting SDNiapplication • SDNiWrapper • SDNiBGP Wrapper will be responsible for the sharing and collecting information to/from federated controllers Project Scope EPL License Legends

ODL-SDNi App ODL-SDNi App – SDNi Wrapper • Network parameters that would be exchanged as part of SDNicommunication (a sample) • Topology Data: • Controller Ip Address • Links • Nodes • Link Bandwidths • MAC Address of switches • Latency • Host IP address • QoSData • Packet Loss rate • Packets Transmitted • Packets Received • Extendable to: • Network topology • Network events • User defined request information • QoS requirements from user application request • Integral infrastructure status (IT, energy consumption…) • Dependency • Need enhancement in ODL-BGP for: • NLRI update message implementation (only inbound Update message implemented) • End To End session establishment between BGP speaker • We are in discussions with Dana Kutenicsova and Robert Varga

ODL-SDNi App Use Case: Bandwidth on demand across inter-SDN Federated Controllers Business Challenge • In the multi-vendor environment, network traffic would need to be orchestrated across intra-/inter-domain subnets of the SDN controllers. • The mandate is of a east-west communication that enables SDN controllers across subnets to exchange network information within the purview of defined policies • Inter-SDN controller (multi-vendor) communication – exchange of network parameters needs to be per pre-agree interface specifications
