From Total Responses • Key Points – from comments made on forms & data – POSITIVE • The OVERALL picture is VERY POSITIVE • – Improvement since last questionnaire; particularly with ‘strongly agree’ category • - 50% average = ‘strongly agreed’ (June 2011) compared to 72.1% average (May 2013) • - 100% either ‘strongly agreed / agreed’ with all questions – except 1 response (due to personal child care – Q6)

Reception / Induction Issues – From Responses • From comments made on forms & data – MAIN ISSUES to be addressed • 1 comment - to know more about weekly themes & topics • 2 comments - Need to change reading books more frequently + one scheme • 1 comment – More information about what sort of thing to write into the Home Communication Book • 1 comment – wanted just Year R in small playground to start to avoid older ‘rough play’ • 1 comment – chance to see children within class – ‘open morning?’ • 1 comment – all pupils to be visited by Year R Teacher at nursery setting (even if only 1 pupil there) • 1 comment – staff can be busy at the start of the day – best time to raise issues?

Comments – Positive Feedback - 1 • Transition arrangements were excellent…took away apprehension coming to school for the first time • All staff very friendly & approachable • Full days are much better start than ½ days and easier to arrange child care • A coffee morning for all new parents / carers worked well • X child loves being taught by Miss Craddock • We love the fact the older children look after the younger ones • I think you all do it very well • Miss Craddock is very approachable and is great at fitting in a ‘quick word’ • She (Miss Craddock) is so happy and positive, which makes it easier to leave our children for the first time • My child has made great strides in reading & writing • Good suggestions of work to do at home • Good structured homework for English & Maths • Good management of behavioural issues • Happy class environment • Good team approach within school • Phonic sessions definitely helpful

Comments – Positive Feedback - 2 • Very happy with the amount of induction sessions, including lunch • Phonics & maths sessions invaluable • Behaviour issues were dealt with well • Reception have their own entrance to give them time to adjust / gain confidence • Very happy with staggered entrance (3 days). Full days very helpful with regards to work / child care • Very happy with communication between parents and teachers • The full days, but not full week were great and built up at a perfect rate to full time • The weekly updates on the web-site are greatly appreciated. Miss Craddock’s page is very up to date and helpful • Overall very happy with all support / help given at every stage
