  5. Unidad 8 PUNTOS DESTACADOS EN EL TEATRO DEL SIGLO XVI • En el siglo XVI surge un teatro culto y clasicista (el teatro humanista) que imita el teatro grecolatino. Escrito en verso, trata sobre temas históricos y legendarios, y respeta las unidades de acción, lugar y tiempo. • También desde principios de siglo, compañías italianas recorrían España con la llamada comedia dell'arte, que consistía en breves piezas improvisadas, con unos personajes fijos y muy cómicos. • En la segunda mitad del siglo XVI triunfa un tipo de teatro popular, cuyo autor más importante es Lope de Rueda, inspirado en la comedia dell’arte italiana. • En el siglo XVII, en 1615, Cervantes publicó un volumen titulado Ocho comedias y ocho entremeses nunca representados. Los entremeses son piezas breves de carácter humorístico que se representaban en los entreactos de las comedias.

  6. Unidad 8 EL TEATRO EN EL SIGLO XVII. LA “COMEDIA NUEVA” • El teatro fue el género literario más innovador y de mayor éxito en el siglo XVII. Se formaron compañías teatrales y en algunas ciudades se abrieron locales estables para las representaciones: los corrales. • El deseo de satisfacer los gustos y exigencias de ese público fue lo que impulsó a Lope de Vega a renovar el teatro español de la época, estableciendo las pautas de la "comedia nueva" en su Arte nuevo de hacer comedias (1590).

Unidad 8 EL TEATRO DE LOPE DE VEGA En la actualidad, se reconocen como obras auténticas de este autor 314 comedias, y se le atribuyen, de forma dudosa o probable, otras cien, aproximadamente. • Comedias sobre temas históricos y legendarios españoles. • Comedias costumbristas de asunto inventado. • Comedias de asunto religioso. • Comedias mitológicas. • Comedias de historia y leyenda extranjeras.

  9. Unidad 8 EL TEATRO DE CALDERÓN DE LA BARCA Con Calderón de la Barca, que únicamente escribió teatro, se asienta la fórmula teatral creada por Lope de Vega y se incorporan al teatro nacional los recursos propios del barroco.
