  1. KS2 SATs Meeting 2018/19

  2. To answer any questions you may have about the KS2 SATs. • To gain an understanding of the assessments for Year 6 and what we have learnt for this year. • To heighten parents awareness of the demands of the Year 6 end of year tests. • To familiarise parents with the programme of • preparation for the tests that school will be carrying out. • To suggest tips for how parents can help children prepare for the tests. Aims of the meeting

  3. Recent Successes at EVS

  4. Key Stage 2 SATs take place nationally in the week commencing: • 13th May 2019 When is SATs week 2019?

  5. A timetable is issued to schools, telling us on which days tests must be administered. • All children must sit the tests at the same time. How is SATs Week Organised?

  6. Tests for most children are completed in either the hall or the classrooms, with any displays that may help, covered over. • Children are divided into groups for test administration to ensure they are properly supported and feel secure. How is SATs Week Organised?

  7. Timetable w/c 13th May

  8. Mock SATs w/c 18th March

  9. In July each pupil will receive: • A raw score (number of actual marks gained in each test). • A scaled score in each tested subject. • Confirmation of whether or not they have attained the expected national standard. Results

  10. What is meant by ‘scaled scores’? • The score of 100 will always represent the ‘national standard’. • Each pupil’s raw test score will therefore be converted into a score on the scale, either at, above or below 100. Scaled Scores

  11. A single test paper with three unrelated reading texts. Texts could include narratives, recounts, persuasive, poetry, instructional or discursive. These are not linked by theme. Children are given 60 minutes in total, which includes reading the texts and answering the questions. A total of 50 marks are available. Reading Tests
