APNIC’s Open Policy Meeting • APNIC holds two meetings per year • As a stand-alone, four-day meeting. • As a conference track within APRICOT. • Meetings include • Special Interest Groups (SIGs) • Birds of a Feather sessions (BOFs) • Training & Education • ASO Open Sessions • APNIC Member Meeting

  4. APNIC SIGs • Open public forum to discuss topics of interest to APNIC and the Internet community in the Asia Pacific Region. • Open call for proposals • Chairs report to APNIC Member Meeting • Ongoing discussion lists • Public archive • http://www.apnic.net/meetings/sigs/

  5. APNIC BOFs • An opportunity to meet informally and exchange ideas. • Chairs report to (open) APNIC Member Meeting • Public archive, where relevant • http://www.apnic.net/meetings/bof/index.html

  6. APNIC Member Meeting • Attendance open to all. • All attendees may participate in discussions. • Consensus sought on policy issues via show of hands, open to all attendees. • Membership issues decided by formal vote (members only).

  7. APNIC Document Revision • Public document revision • Discussion in SIGs (or BOFs) and Member Meetings. • Multiple calls for comment made to public mailing lists. • Comments considered in next draft. • Drafts available on web site during review process. • APNIC Document Review Policies and Procedures (draft) • http://www.apnic.net/drafts/doc-rev-02.html

APNIC Training & Education • Contributing to more informed policy discussion. • APNIC training courses • Increase awareness of Regional Policies and Procedures. • Open to all (priority registration for members). • Joint Seminars (APTLD, ISOC, APIA) • Increase awareness of Internet governance issues. • Open to all.
