  2. What is Community Guard… • A package policy designed precisely for organizations such as the Canadian Association for Photographic Art • Permits the streamlining of insurance needs for non-profits, limiting the number of policies in force

  3. What’s covered? Commercial General Liability (CGL): Provides protection to your organization for claims that arise as a result of your negligence. Claims can be brought by volunteers, clients or the general public. The claims may be made as a result of Bodily Injury (BI) or Property Damage (PD)

  4. Coverages (cont’d.) • Commercial Property – to insure the property that your organization owns, leases or rents against damage. Depending on the type of policy, damage can either be caused by a specific list of perils (Named Perils form) or against All Risk (All Risk Form).

Coverages (cont’d.) • Insurance Against Crime – can provide coverage for loss of money due to robbery on and off premises and break and enter, and/or coverage against fraudulent or dishonest acts of employees or signing officers • Blanket Accident – limited coverage for accidental injury by a client or a volunteer where there is no negligence. A goodwill coverage

  6. Coverages (cont’d.) • Liability for Non-Owned Automobiles – coverage for policyholders to ensure that they are covered when they use their own vehicles to carry out duties for the organization, as a volunteer.

  7. Coverages (cont’d.) • Directors & Officers Liability – protects the directors and officers of the organization against claims made by others for a wrongful financial loss. This can be an employee claiming for financial loss due to wrongful dismissal, or a financial loss of another brought on by the advice or actions of the directors and officers.

Protecting you Organization Directors & Officers • Insures intentional acts • “Wrongful acts” causing financial loss • Excludes Bodily Injury & Property Damage Commercial General Liability • Insures unintended, unexpected events • Includes Bodily Injury & Property Damage • Excludes intentional acts
