  1. Kellie Love 6thGrade Math Lesson Plan Presentation

  2. Objective • TLW demonstrate an understanding of area and perimeter after reviewing, reading the the book, “Sir Cumference and the Isle of Immeter”, playing the jeopardy game in teams and completing a worksheet with 80% accuracy.

  3. Our Adventure • First, the learners took the pretest, which consisted of 10 area and perimeter questions. • I read the book “Sir Cumference and the Isle of Immeter” to then and we discussed it. • We then reviewed the formulas for calculating the area and perimeter of a square, rectangle, and triangle. • As a class we worked six problems on the board. • Then I divided the class up into four groups.

  4. Our Adventure Continued • The two groups played the Jeopardy game that I created. • http://www.superteachertools.com/jeopardy/usergames/Nov201246/game1352943742.php • After finishing the game the post test was completed. • I then pulled sticks to choose students to work the problems out and correct their mistakes. • By the time we finished with all of this it was time for the next class to come in.

  5. Assessment Pretest Posttest

  6. Reflections • I think that this was a very good experience for myself. • We had no discipline problems and the class finished the lesson with only a few needing more instruction to understand the concept. • To be honest, I had a blast.
