  5. AmeriCorps • AmeriCorps is made up of three programs: • AmeriCorps*State and National • AmeriCorps*VISTA • AmeriCorps*NCCC

  6. AmeriCorps Priority Areas • Education • Public Safely • Environment • Other Human Needs • Homeland Security

  7. AmeriCorps*State and National • AmeriCorps*State Programs: • funded through State Commissions. • AmeriCorps*National Programs: • funded through national parent organizations (e.g., Habitat for Humanity, Youth Build). Members serve in states where organizations have local programs or sites.

  8. AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteers In Service to America… fighting poverty for 40 years.

  9. AmeriCorps*NCCC NCCC is modeled after the conservation programs of the 1930’s.
