  4. A part of Bobs world • Political violence in Bobs hometown was a huge foundation for his music • 1970 was the year the album Soul Rebels was released in production with the band The Upsetters • The time changing songs like Duppy Conqueror, 400 Years and Soul Rebel were on this album

  5. When the road changes • Catch Fire was the next great release in 1973 when tours were set up in Britain and US • This was the year they opened for Bruce Springsteen in New York City • Island records released their next album “Burnin” in the same year.

  6. Natty Dread released in 1975 was on a whole new level Please welcome Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt The Wailers left the group the year before this album came to life. And this is where the I-Threes come into play

  7. Rastaman Vibrations was Bobs next great album This was a time things were starting to mellow for Bobs life. This was Bobs only album to reach the Billboards Top 200 and toped at No. 8.

  8. Smile Jamaica concert, December 5th1976 Bob had achieved so much success and his life was put in jeopardy when his house was shot at and he was hit with a bullet and his wife Rita also was struck, thankfully nobody died. This could be someone that did not want him to sing at the Smile Jamaica Concert, and he did anyways. The song he chose that day was “War” A perfect song for the violence that was around him.

  9. Time for a change with spiritual and political concerns • Exodus was released in 1977 • Kaya was released in 1978

  10. The final album • Uprising released in 1980 • This album has some of Bobs most famous songs that we all love.

  11. The end of an amazing road for a great influential man. • On May 11th 1981 Bob’s body could go on longer and he passed away from cancer that started in his foot

  12. A great reward for a great man • With all that Bob had done and all his great achievements he was awarded Jamaica’s third highest honor, The Order of the Merit

  13. Redemption Song From “Uprising” This songs talks about being free from forms of government slavery and that nobody can free our mind of what is being put in our thoughts and surrounding us daily but ourselves. This song was Bobs last single before his death in May of 1981. It has meaning to his spiritual way of life and what he believed in. www.songfacts.com Bobs songs will always have truth and all his heart and beliefs put into every one of them. The soft music and the mellow tone of this song is almost in a defeat sound but Bob would not let it go there. He shows his emotions in this song and they are so strong.

  14. Buffalo Soldier from “Legends” This song can be given credit to the black soldiers of the African American Calvary www.songfacts.com African Americans were used to fight for the land to give back to the Native Americans so that civilized white people could live there. It ironic how this song sings about being civilized when the black men were Stolen from Africa” www.elyrics.net Bob always sings the truth in his songs. The fight the buffalo soldiers did for the war was a lot more than what they get credit for. He wants people to know the history and where they are coming from and to know their backgrounds cause everybody came from something great.

  15. Could you be loved from “Uprising” Bob wanted to be a part of the bigger music world when it came to the states. He wanted to give the American people something they could relate too and a sound they would love. Bob wants people to understand love and if you dare take the chance on love. This song was written in 1979. There is a part in the song that is from his first single “Judge” http://www.bobmarley.com/ (The road of life is rocky and you may stumble too, so while you point your fingers someone else is judging you). It shows that you can love anybody you want but don’t judge another person for doing the same thing. Love will always be on our life's if we let it so don’t let anybody take that away from you. Don’t let people change you and make you somebody else.
