Fulbright Fellowship 1993-94 at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia • First American Fulbrighter in Saudi Arabia in many years • Guest lectured on American educational system and issues • Visited with former HU student and a former neighbor • Collaborated with colleague on article later published in 1997 • Starting writing a novel

8. Travel to South Africa in 2000 • Attended conference co-sponsored by HU Center for Drug Abuse Research • Made presentation at University of the Western Cape with colleagues from the Center for Research on the Education of Students Placed At Risk (CRESPAR) • Later collaborated with South African colleague on paper presented at annual conference of the American Educational Research Association

9. Bermuda Conference 2006 • Conference on “Children and Families in the African Diaspora” held at Bermuda College and coordinated with former student • Presentations by myself, other HU colleagues, and local scholars

10. Fulbright Summer Seminar Abroad 2010 • Seminar Theme – “China: History and Culture” • Group of 16 American professors visited Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, Shanghai and Hong Kong • Potential for collegial contacts • Development of curriculum project that can be broadly shared

11. Preparation of Fulbright Specialist Application • Examining possibilities with colleague in Malaysia • Focus on what can be offered to host university • Could be foundation of full year Fulbright application 2 years down the line
