Structure of a NAF course

  • 1 semester (70 – 80 class periods)

  • Class periods are 50 minutes long

  • A NAF course is “one size fits most”

  • Includes a lesson on industry-related careers

  • Includes a culminating project

  • Advisory board is involved in every course

Structure of a NAF lesson

  • Each includes three main components: Lesson Plan, Student Resource, Teacher Resource; also includes PowerPoints, videos, and other file types

  • Each lesson includes an assessment product

  • Docs are in Word format to be edited as needed

  • Every lesson includes a literacy activity

  • Extensions and cross-curricular activities are provided at the end of each lesson
