  5. 1.Daar is O2-arme bloed in die kapillêre bloedvate om die alveolus. 2.Lug binne die alveolus is ryk aan O2. 3.Slegs twee dun sellae skei die O2-arme bloed van die 02- ryke lug in die alveolus. 4.Daar is dus ‘n konsentrasie- gradiënt tussen die bloed en die lug. 5.O2 diffundeer nou van ‘n hoë konsentrasie in alveolus na ‘n lae konsentrasie in die bloed. 6.O2 verbind met hemoglobien en vorm oksihemoglobien. 7.
