  1. Welcome to my conference! *February 2006 *8th grade *Victoria

  2. What was your easiest assignment in Algebra & why? • My easiest assignment was on “Systems of Equations”. I finally understood something in Sra. Barber’s class!

  3. What was your hardest Algebra assignment & why? • My hardest assignment was the worksheet “Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Substitution”. I did not understand it!

  4. What have been your easiest and hardest Social Studies assignments? Describe them. • The easiest assignment was the “Nature Booklet”. We had to pretend we were on an expedition and we had to write down new plants and animals that we saw. The hardest assignment was probably the research on our inventors. I didn't like it because I hate to give presentations! I get so nervous!

  5. In Science & Spanish, what assignment has frustrated you the most? Why? • In Science, the notes and questions that we do just frustrate me! I don’t like to do them because you have to write so much. In Spanish, it would be the worksheet about Jennifer Lopez about “Ser and Estar”.

  6. Do you feel challenged in Language Arts? Why/not? Describe your favorite activity so far. • Sometimes I feel challenged but most of the time it is pretty easy. My favorite activity so far is the reading of the book “Nothing but the Truth”.

  7. What stresses you out about school and why? • The work in Algebra stresses me out the most because I struggle with it a lot.

  8. Pick two specific classes you can improve in, and tell two specific steps you can take to improve. • I could probably just improve in Algebra. It is the hardest subject for me. I struggle with learning the steps of solving the equations. I need to study more for my tests and have more confidence.

  9. How much time do you spend doing homework each night? Describe your routine. • I spend at least 1 hour or 2 on homework depending on how much I have. First I eat some snacks then I get right to work so I can get it done.

  10. What are your test grades like? Tell three specific ways you study. • My test grades are not very well in Algebra. My test scores in Spanish are pretty good. One way to study is to look over your notes and then test yourself. Another is to just look over your work and see if you can do whatever you are studying for.

  11. As you prepare to go to high school, what subjects or areas do you feel you need the most improvement? How can your teachers & parents help? • I feel I need to most improve in Algebra. I think that Sra. Barber could help. I think I should Go after school and have her help me.

  12. Teacher Comment Page • Victoria- I appreciate your honesty in your reflections about your work. Your powerpoint turned out very nice- I like the consistency in colors, and your graphic choices were great! However, it took a lot of clicking to get through the transitions so I could read each page, and I also couldn’t find your project, because it wasn’t saved in the right place! 27 out of 30 points. • As for your schoolwork, you have an excellent work ethic, and that will take you far! You are also well prepared for presentations, and I never would have known they make you nervous until I read that in here. You are on the right track in getting extra help in Algebra, so I’m confident your grades will improve there as well. Sra. T.
