Cables Two solutions exist Same halogen-free cable material (Madison) • I2S (CERN-contact): 141.33 EUR/cable (6m), 12 wks for 400 cables • Needs reworking at CERN for reversing shell case (more time) • No prototypes (of the halogen-free version) availableMOQ: 200 cables • TCC: 160-185$/cable (6m),price depends on quantity4 wks for 400 cables • Prototypes availableMOQ: 1 cable

TDCB future The engineer who took over the TDCB project left Firmware mostly complete, needs extensive testing V5 TDCBs (and cables) will be made available for purchase to sub-detector groups for assessment. Groups should arrange testing setup (with TELL1s) Produce up to 14 V5 boards: RICH: validation in Perugia (M. Piccini)LAV: validation in Frascati (M. Raggi) CEDAR: validation in Birmingham (A. Romano)STRAWS (fallback): validation in CERN (A. Sergi)MUV: ?CHANTI: ?SAC/IRC (if used?): ?

To do (reminder) • TTC network installation (fibres & splitters ordering) • TTC diode replacement (tests)? • Ordering of TDCB (up to 12 total) + cables • TDCB sub-detector validation tests • Crates validation • TELL1 radiation tests? • Ordering TEL62 (up to 10 total), manifacturing of GbE cards • TEL62 sub-detector validation • Common eth data-transfer software layer ?

  7. 4 main issues in front of us • TEL62 firmware:Pisa will drive the effort butmanpower issuesmissing involvement from many sub-detectors • LOTP: SW responsibility FerraraHardware responsibility ?Plan ? Milestone: demonstrator at end 2011? Dedicated meeting pending… • Online software: Re-use part of existing CERN (LHCb ?) softwareCoordination & plan ? • L1 (& L2) rejection: More RICH? Other sub-detectors?Straws usable? (do we need fine time at L1? how fine?)

  8. Getting real ? Need to define goals & plans for (1) dry run (spring-summer 2012) and (2) test run (fall 2012) The NA62 charged hodoscope?
