vendors after school hours. (3 times a week x 2 hours)

  • At the start of the course, pupils will individually use Audacity to record themselves reading a passage that has been prepared by the ELL department. They will listen to their audio recording and reflect on their pronunciation of grammatical and lexical words.
  • At the end of the course, pupils will again record themselves reading the same passage. They will upload the recordings on a class blog. Their classmates will comment on the recordings, based on what they have learnt during the Phonetics Course.

how strategy relates to cognitivism
How strategy relates to Cognitivism
  • Pupils are explicitly taught the rules of the plural and past tense forms.
  • Pupils are able to develop knowledge through analysis of the different words (public speaking, pronouncing words on flash cards)
  • The use of IT, discussion, role play and the other assessments modes ensure that the pupils are actively engaged throughout the process.
