Objectives and Requirements of KM KM in human development (SDC) • Pointing at the need to build capacities to learn and to change based on what people know; • Strengthening the people’s capacities to learn and change; • Enhancing development workers’ knowledge awareness, by knowing • -what’s already in place • -what is still missing • -what should be done • -who is responsible for what

Objectives and Requirements of KM Basic requirements of KM: • A business goal — a means to or component of the organizational goal. • A human orientation — all types of knowledge require human interpretation to be useful • An implementation strategy — a plan for implementation to which people are committed • Systematic, doable processes — improved methods of capturing, codifying, storing, distributing, utilizing knowledge. • Communication and information support — knowledge is processed through communication and information transfer; technology facilitates the storage and distribution of knowledge.
