Challenge 1 Fill in the gaps with the right part of avoir + the past participle. * = irregular verb Challenge 3 Use the crossword clues, the irregular verbs sheet and your brain to work out what is happening in the poem. Make notes next to the poem in English Challenge 4 Practise reading the poem out with a good French accent. Think about common sound patterns. Challenge 5 Produce an illustrated version of the poem, with pictures to show all the things that are happening

Things to think about… 5 minutes discussion in groups of 2 or 3 • Who is the narrator (the person telling the story) in the poem? • Are they male or female? • What relationship are they to the other person? • What has happened before the events in the poem? • What do you think might happen afterwards?
