Concept • Accessible to all regional Koorie students • A holistic approach to meet individual student needs with strategic engagement • Provide a baseline of data based on actual student aspirations and expectations • Promote importance of education and pathways at the school level for Koorie students and parents • Resources and support to school communities local to their environment • Exposure to all aspects of career aspirations

Consultation and commitment • Dedicated group of regional partners • Koorie community involvement at all levels via LAECG ongoing representation • Aligning key objectives of improving Koorie student outcomes • Focus on common goals • Develop a an ongoing sustainable program with common partners • Improve parent and family engagement

Goals • transition into meaningful training and further education. • supported in transition to meaningful employment. • coordination and collaboration across post compulsory training and education providers. • holistic approach to supporting young people in training, education and employment. • Supporting cultural identity, through self growth and cultural learning. • Provide opportunities to build confidence and skills to realise aspirations in education, employment and pathways • Improve retention, engagement and year 12 completion

  6. Stage 1Introduction and surveys • Aligns to Term 1 • Communication and promotion to schools/parents/community • Conduct brief interviews to meet students/careers staff • Completion of surveys • Develop relationships with school staff/community, students and families

Stage 2Careers Expo and Cultural Celebration • Aligns with Term 2 • Survey results • LLEN coordination to develop and host in local areas with local stakeholders and providers • Koorie community and students involved in the event planning • Focused industry and employers based on student preference

  8. Stage 3Worlds of Work Program • Aligns with Term 3 • Expression of interest for 25 places • Induction and preparation of students • Focus on aspirations and development of skills to succeed in the global world of work • Builds student confidence and network relationships

  9. Stage 4Transition and pathway support Provide individualised support in • Work experience opportunities • Traineeships • Further education • MIPs • Course selections

  10. Outcomes • Increased partnership in KPP model • Builds student confidence and skills • Improved retention, engagement and year 12 completion • Increase in pathway aspirations in scholarships, traineeships and work experience • Individualised support to student • Improved MIPs through a holistic approach • Sustainability
