  1. How to Resolve Your Insurance Claim Complaints More than half of the consumer insurance complaints are related to insurance claims only. Death claim rejection, delay in claim processing, denied cashless medical claims and reimbursement claims, are some of the insurance claim complaints.      

  2. These insurance claim complaints must be addressed within 15 days by the insurance provider. If the provider does not respond within 15 days or the insured is dissatisfied with the response, then he has the option to file his insurance claim complaint with IRDAI. Even after the intervention of IRDAI, if the insurance company rejects your claim stating the reason for rejection, IRDAI will treat the complaint as resolved. But, if the insured is still unsatisfied, then he can approach the insurance ombudsman. You can approach a consumer court if you are still not satisfied with the claim complaints.

  3. Although there is a consumer redressal mechanism, still, customers fail to communicate their complaints properly. The main reason is lack of communication. Specifically, insurance claim rejection complaints are presented emotionally rather objectively. Customers fail to provide proper documents and present their cases correctly.
