  1. The Midnight Charter Written by David Whitley PowerPoint by Ben Levin

  2. In the ancient city-state of Agora, young Lily and Mark meet in the dark tower of Count Stelli, the famous astrologer. They develop a close friendship. Lily leaves the tower under the apprenticeship of a doctor. Mark becomes apprentice to Count Stelli, who soon disappears.

  3. Mark makes a lucky prediction that leads him to fame and riches. He begins to usurp power from others in the business community and gets rich undeservedly. • Lily starts an almshouse that feed the debtors and the poor. She devotes her time and energy to charity.

  4. The two children keep an unsteady relationship, although their ambitions are so blatantly opposite. Lily works for good, and Mark for evil. They are the two, the Antagonist and Protagonist, that the ancient Midnight Charter predicted.

  5. Mark and Lily’s actions will determine the fate of Agora. What happens to Mark and Lily? What happens to Agora? Find out by reading The Midnight Charter by David Whitley.
