  5. EMAIL • Viruses are the number 1 problem with email today. • We began filtering all emails for viruses back in the year 2000. Our system will generate an automatic email to the sender if a virus is detected. • Spam is the second largest problem and we installed a filter to handle this problem.

  6. Email Guidelines • Manage your own email by deleting unwanted and older messages. • Your email will automatically be archived to your network directory after 6 months. • Watch for Viruses and do not open mail from anyone you do not know. • Do not send or return “chain letters” it only serves to verify your address. • Students do not have email accounts

  7. Online Conduct • Please pay special attention to this section on page 2 of the AUP. It contains the most important do’s and don’ts. • WISD is CIPA (Children's Internet Protection ACT) compliant. We are filtering some 30,000 objectionable sites per month. • Instant Messaging is not permitted in the district. Students are not permitted in chat rooms. • All web pages must be approved by the technology department. We encourage any new content and designs.
