  2. What is Moodle? Moodle is the University Virtual Learning Environment which uses interactive methods such as forums and quizzes.

What does the Careers Employability Award involve? • Identifying your employability skills: learning how to develop these and to “sell” them to employers in applications and interviews. • Self-awareness: identifying your interests, values and personal styles and finding careers these relate to. • Researching opportunities: finding out about a particular career in depth. • Preparing a CV, learning how to make applications and learning how to perform well at interview

How to get the Award • You will need to complete all of the quizzes, three of the assignments and the feedback form to complete the award • You are allowed unlimited attempts at the quizzes and there is no time limit. For most of the quizzes the pass mark is 75% • The award takes about 12 hours in total to complete

How to enter Moodle and enrol on the award • https://moodle.kent.ac.uk/moodle - enter your Kent login and password • ‘Search all modules’ (left side of the page) for careers or employability • Double click on ‘Careers Employability’ • Click on ‘Enrol me in this Module’ under ‘Administration’ on the left. • If you have a problem, email Bruce on bw@kent.ac.uk

  8. Viewing your progress and completing the award • ‘Activities’ section on the left for viewing quiz and assignment marks. • Once you have completed the quizzes, three assignments and feedback form, email bw@kent.ac.ukwith your full name, subject, year and college, plus the names of the assignments you have completed. • For further information see http://www.kent.ac.uk/careers/moodle.htm

  9. The Careers Employability Award On successful completion you receive a University of Kent Careers Employability Award. This can be added to your CV.

Comments from students who have completed the award I particularly liked the CV and interview sections as they really helped me to think about aspects of an application I wouldn't have considered. I understand my skills in more depth and can elaborate on this.It really helped me to find out what employers really want out of interviews, CVs in the selection process.Knowing what employers look for in graduates and how CVs should be tailored.
