Discussion Requirements • You are expected to participate in the weekly online discussion at least twice and will receive a grade for the extent and content of your responses and for your effectiveness in your assigned role (starter, facilitator and wrapper) • Sometimes students each week will be designated as a starter, a facilitator, and a wrapper. They will function in that role and the other students will propel the discussion. All can contribute but the starter must be the first to initiate the discussion. No one can dominate the discussion. • The starter initiates the discussion with some preliminary explanation, links and further questions. The facilitator responds to other students, prompts questions and encourages new exploration. The wrapper comes in on the last day of the discussion and summarizes the entire discussion, concluding with analysis. • Guidelines for evaluation of discussion are available on my website
