Religion Mummification: • Purpose of mummification? • The internal organs (stomach, liver, intestines, lungs) were removed. • The body was stuffed and covered with natron (i.e. sodium carbonate). • It was cleaned, stuffed again and oiled. • It was wrapped with linen and clothes and placed in two coffins.
