What is one irving

What is One Irving?

Established by the Greater Irving – Las Colinas chamber of commerce as a separate 501 C-3 educational support foundation, One Irving….Making the grade has 3 objectives:

1.Educate

  • Increase the number of college-bound and post-secondary students by improving test scores in science and math, and create a culture of empowerment through applied leadership principles.

  • Students who are motivated in the classroom achieve much more in school. Providing activities outside the classroom can expose students to career options that will capitalize on individual interests and abilities and drive them to excel in school.

    2. Motivate

  • Link career opportunities and academic excellence.

  • One Irving” will expand Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) programs to propel an additional 1,450 economically disadvantaged and language-challenged students toward college or higher learning at MacArthur High School and the Jack E. Singley Academy, two of the four high schools in Irving Independent School District (IISD).

    3. Celebrate

  • Promote Irving through an image and marketing campaign by accurately and consistently portraying Irving’s assets and academic achievements.
