  2. What is a Veteran? • A person who has served in a military force, especially one who has fought in a war: a Vietnam veteran(Dictionary.com) • A member of the armed services (American Council on Education at acenet.edu)

Student veterans numbers increasing In 1947, 50% of U.S. college students were veterans Today – Post-9/11 GI Bill make up only 3% Campuses across the country are on the cusp of serving more than 2 million military veterans as they return from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars Most are attending community and technical colleges

Women make up 8% of veterans (Wisconsin 7.2%)

Offer to help with their transition to (or back to) campus Support with patience and listening Understand that the transition home is a process and can take time Acclimate, assist and advocate Student Veterans Associations or Clubs MPTC recognized as Military Friendly School for the 4th consecutive year
