The idea of PLE in PeLE- project • PLE is a new concept in teaching and learning • Every student has their own personal learning environment • PLE may be composed of different social media tools (blogs, wikis, bookmarks, community services, etc.) • PLE is networking and community learning tool • PLE enables lifelong learning (formal – informal) • PLE makes visible student´s skills, knowledge, networks • The student makes the learning materials – not the teacher!!!

Piloting PLE 37 Savonia-UAS students 10 business students, 13 nursing students, 14 engineering students  OSS Linux, Open Office, Skype, Wlan 27 Savo vocational institute students (adult)  Windows, Microsoft Office, 3G 1.11.2011 over 100 students´ve made and use PLE using wordpress-blog or googlesites Linux
